This 4x14 custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Zebrawood. I wanted a very dry snap/crack with this drum and decided to add vents to achieve that. I didn’t want to make the vents large and showy, so I created 20 small vents that are aligned with the tension rods to be more inconspicuous. In addition to the main 1/2 inch vent, this drum has an additional 3.44” worth of vents. The shell is 0.65” thick with 45 degree offset bearing edges. I topped it off with a crystal clear, glossy, glassy, pricey, pretty, durable polyester clear coat. This custom snare drum has black nickel triple flanged hoops, lugs and tension rods, a Puresound 24 strand snare wire, a DFD black nickel throw off and butt plate, and Remo heads. Enjoy the pop and crack of this drum!
