Otto Vowinkel was born into a family of tailors, in the old center of Amsterdam. He started building guitars in 1984, inspired by Irving Sloane’s book “Classic Guitar Construction”. He soon developed a strong preference for traditionally built guitars and started designing his own models.
This model was made at an early stage of his career, to be precise 1991 and is therefore completely hand made by Otto. The rosewood back and sides are paired with a European spruce top and feature a cedar neck with an ebony fingerboard that ends at the exceptionally styled headstock.
Physically light, with a dinstinctive tone and the exceptional ease of playing characterize this guitar. In addition, this Vowinkel has a characteristic definition, projection and is very dynamic. Since then it has been used quite well and the delicate French polish finish proudly wears its playwear and traces of use. It has no pickguard, so the playwear and dings are mostly evident on the right side of the top. The back has a light rash and a few scratches.
