AKAI DPS 24

Hi there,
For sale is an outstanding machine - AKAI DPS 24, one of the best standalone multi track recorders out there in fully working condition. Sounds fantastic.

These are rarely on sale. If you look at this ad, there is a big chance you already know what you are looking at. In case you don't - just google AKAI DPS24 - you would find all reviews and specs - trust me, you wouldn't be disappointed.
Long story short - it is a digital multi track recorder (DAW - digital audio workstation) with 12 inputs, capable or recording up to 24 channels of hi-res uncompressed 16 or 24 bit (32 / 44.1 / 48 / 96 kHz) audio on it's internal drive. It is also capable of burning CDs.
AKAI DPS24 has (just to list few): motorized faders, automation recording, excellent internal effects as well as mastering tools. It also features non-destructive editing, copy, paste, time stretch... and much more WITHOUT need of using any computer. Forget about compatibility issues, latency, software updates and other inconveniences the modern computer-based DAWs brought about.

Unlike many other standalone recorders you have an option of either recording using it's outstanding crystal clear mic pre-amplifiers (12 of them) or you can bypass those and record directly from hi quality analog-digital converters. This machine gives you all the flexibility you can imagine, basically any input, bus, insert (4 of them) of track can be routed and configured in any way. Plus, USB compatibility with Windows XP (for monitoring, editing and file exchange) and MIDI for external control. I do NOT have a disk with AkSys software for Windows XP, but you can easily find this software online for free as it was free originally.

The reason I would like to sell this engineering masterpiece is simple - I mostly make music using keyboards, basically utilizing just two inputs - so this machine is an overkill for my needs.

There is only one imperfection - as you can see on the photo it has 6 small black marker lines under the mixer section (I believe the previous owner did that). Otherwise it is perfect.

IMPORTANT: this thing is huge and heavy, so shipping might cost quite a lot, depending upon your location. Price DOES NOT include shipping and handling - so please contact me if you win the auction (I have to check with UPS here) Although machine is fully working right now, I can not guarantee it's functionality upon arrival. I'm not responsible for any damage caused by shipping and after all this thing is 15 years old. So !!!NO RETURNS!!! Any import taxes are a sole responsibility or a buyer.
