Takamine PT07E | 1979 | Ry Cooder | collectors item 1979
This is—yes, really—the very first semi-acoustic guitar ever produced by Takamine. An incredibly rare specimen from 1979, marking the introduction of the world-famous Palathetic pickup!
Takamine developed this guitar in collaboration with Ry Cooder. It features Takamine’s first-ever preamp, equipped with just two sliders—Gain and EQ—which still work perfectly! Isn't that just wild?
The condition is fantastic, including the neck angle; the action is set nice and low—a testament to the incredibly robust build quality of these Japanese-made instruments!
This particular guitar features a spruce top and a beautifully arched maple back, finished in a stunning sunburst.
When I acquired this guitar, the frets were quite low, so I had them replaced. It now sports brand-new frets (a €300 value) and is completely ready to play. We even used the exact same fret wire that Takamine themselves use.
It comes with its original 1979 case—can you believe it? It features a beautiful yellow velour interior and the Takamine brand name on the outside!
All guitars come with a 3-month warranty covering hidden flaws or technical defects (excluding normal wear and tear).
