2023 Martin Special Run D-18 in excellent condition. It features an Adirondack spruce top paired with sinker mahogany back and sides, and includes a K&K pickup and the original hardshell case.

This is not a standard D-18; it is a Special build featuring a "holy grail" combination of tonewoods: a high-grade Adirondack Spruce top paired with rare, old-growth Sinker Mahogany back and sides.

The guitar is in excellent condition and includes the original hardshell case, slight surface belt rash. It has also been professionally fitted with a K&K pickup, making it ready for stage or studio use right out of the box.

What makes this guitar special: The core of this instrument’s exceptional voice is the Sinker Mahogany. Harvested from old-growth trees cut in the jungles of Belize between 1880 and 1920, these logs were lost to the river bottoms for nearly a century before being recovered. This long, underwater "curing" process—combined with the naturally denser, slower-growth characteristics of 19th-century timber—results in a tonewood that is incredibly stable and resonant.

Sinker Mahogany offers a deeper, more complex midrange than standard mahogany, providing a luxurious, earthy warmth with added harmonic complexity and sustain. When paired with the power, clarity, and explosive dynamics of an Adirondack Spruce top, the result is a dreadnought with a massive voice: piano-like lows, crisp, chiming highs, and a punchy, fundamental-forward midrange that sits perfectly in any mix.
