Up for sale is a rare and highly sought-after Siemens Sitral U274 vintage broadcast limiter / diode clipper module, manufactured in Germany during the golden era of German radio and studio engineering.

Sourced directly from a professional vintage Siemens mixing console which was used for broadcasting in Germany until 1999 (see pictures).

This unit features discrete Germanium/Silicon circuitry and Haufe transformers, offering that signature thick, warm, and musical vintage broadcast sound.

The module has been bench-tested and verified in a working environment.

Tested via frequency sweep analysis (FuzzMeasure). It exhibits a rock-solid, flat frequency response from 50 Hz well past 20 kHz with no high-end roll-off.

Please note that the U274 delivers a robust, high-output studio signal. When connecting to modern DAW interfaces, using a passive DI box or external attenuation (pad) is recommended to properly match input headroom.

Good vintage condition with expected minor signs of wear on the front panel from rack mounting and age (please refer to the high-resolution photos).

General Features:

- Original Siemens Sitral cassette format

- High-grade balanced input and output transformers (Haufe)

- Fast diode-clipping / limiting behavior, ideal for drum busses, vocal levelling, or aggressive sound shaping
