Product Details

The MESA/Boogie Throttlebox is a high-gain distortion pedal from the renowned American amplifier brand MESA/Boogie.

Its appeal lies in its ability to deliver the brand's amplifier sound, which has been supported by countless guitarists for many years, in a compact enclosure.

Pursuing powerful distortion and excellent tonal separation, it's a professional-grade pedal suitable for a wide range of playing styles, from hard rock to modern metal.

This unit features GAIN, TONE, LEVEL, and MID CUT controls, allowing for fine-tuning of distortion depth and tone.

Furthermore, the HI/LO gain mode switch allows for a wide range of settings, from a crunch-like drive to intense high-gain.

The MID CUT control adjusts the amount of mid-range frequencies, allowing you to freely fine-tune from a powerful scooped midrange sound to a strong distortion that emphasizes the mid-range.

A major feature is its combination of amp-like operation and flexible sound shaping.

The sound is characterized by MESA/Boogie's signature heavy bass, sharp attack, and dense distortion. Even with heavy distortion, the tonal definition is maintained, allowing you to enjoy a clear resonance even with riffs that heavily utilize intricate picking and fast phrases.
Power chords using the lower strings produce a powerful, thick sound, while single-note leads deliver rich sustain and a smooth tone.
By reducing the gain, you can also obtain a drive sound that utilizes the nuances of picking dynamics, offering flexibility to suit a wide range of genres.

Recommended for guitarists who want to enjoy a genuine high-gain sound with a compact pedal.

Its expressive power is appealing, accommodating a wide range of playing styles, from weighty backing to impactful leads.

This is a pedal that we highly recommend for those who want to add powerful distortion to their usual amp, or those who want to easily incorporate the powerful sound unique to MESA/Boogie.
