Maton Australian, made in Melbourne 2023, natural finish. Maton are Australia's headline guitar success story, kicking off in 1946 and finding favour with players from George Harrison to Tommy Emmanuel. The Australian model is one of thier pair of flagship modelsm, the other being the Messiah. This one takes their classic take on the dreadnought-cutaway shape and builds it from some very fine Australian tonewoods. The top is a gorgeous piece of streaky Bunya pine from Queensland, and the back, sides and neck are made of AA grade solid Victorian Blackwood, which is similar to Hawaiian Koa, but more sustainable to source and use. It's a beautiful guitar to behold, truly. The sound is lush too: it has that signature top end jangle that rings across pubs all over the nation every weekendm, but this one has a complex midrange with heaps of harmonic richness and a tuneful, strong bass. The APs Pro system translates the sound very accurately plugged in; it's one of the best preamps available. This one came from one of our favourite regulars, so it's in amazing shape and would just about suit a new buyer. Casual racism not included.
