The Bourgeois Professional Series Country Boy Dreadnought is an instrument where modern precision meets a classic soul. Every Professional Series guitar is handcrafted in Lewiston, Maine, by the Bourgeois Guitars team and embodies the blend of craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and musical focus that makes the brand so beloved among serious players.

Built for musicians who rely on their guitar every day, this Professional Series model prioritizes tonal quality, balance, and reliability. Featuring carefully selected tonewoods, precisely tuned bracing, and a signature bolt-on neck construction, the guitar delivers an open, honest tone and a playing feel that is instantly familiar. The satin finish provides a played-in feel and an understated, traditional aesthetic.

The Country Boy bears a name coined by Ricky Skaggs in the late 1990s. It offers everything you need without unnecessary embellishment: an AAAA-grade Sitka spruce top paired with premium mahogany back and sides, creating a versatile platform suitable for any playing style. The Bourgeois Country Boy Dreadnought is further appointed with classic details such as an ebony fingerboard and bridge, a 1930s-style rosette, tortoise binding, and nickel Schaller tuners.

A key element of its character is the bolt-on neck construction developed by Dana Bourgeois. This system allows for highly precise neck adjustments without compromising tone or stability, and has been renowned for its long-term reliability for decades. Combined with a graphite-reinforced, dual-action truss rod, it ensures stable playability and easy maintenance.

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
