Rare opportunity to own a completely original working K49 capsule. The K49 capsule was developed in 1960 specifically for the M49b and U48 microphones . The multi polar pattern of the m49 and figure 8 pattern of the U48 required close matching of front and back capsules to maintain proper off axis response and polarity while in figure 8 pattern . They are sonically the same as the more common K47 with higher tolerance.
This capsule works perfectly. It is an early brass revision Circa 1960. I have had this installed in my vintage Neumann U48 for years, but found an M7 capsule that works better on my particular voice . The capsule sounds stunning and you won’t see an opportunity like this again for a while. “Reskinned“ capsules have never made the hair on the back of my ass stand up. This one does , feels good …try it
Sorry it’s so expensive, I didn’t ruin the microphone economy, I’m just living in it. 90% of the sound is in the capsule. this one is holy. Tell me about ur microphone and make me an offer
