Description

La Bella’s Mandolin Series reflects more than three centuries of string-making heritage, carried forward by a family business based in Newburgh, New York, since 1913. The 880L set combines phosphor bronze-wound strings with plain steel trebles to deliver a balanced, articulate voice across an eight-string mandolin. Its light tension offers an inviting response and comfortable feel, making it well suited to players who value ease of fretting without sacrificing clarity, projection, or musical character.

Designed with loop ends for compatible mandolin tailpieces, this complete set supports everything from traditional bluegrass and folk to Celtic music, acoustic ensembles, studio work, and everyday practice. The phosphor bronze winding contributes warm, focused overtones and a pleasing acoustic shimmer, while the plain steel strings preserve definition in the higher register. American wire and La Bella’s MAP packaging help maintain dependable quality and reduce tarnish before the strings reach your instrument.
