This is the super rare Japanese Fender PERFORMER from 1985 in extra rare Emerald Mist colour. in total 85/86 600 or less performers where made in Japan. The "Emerald Mist" exception: While standard production models featured metallic hues like Gunmetal Blue and Burgundy Mist, Emerald Mist appeared only on very early or prototype configurations—making factory original specimens exceptionally scarce. So if you want a RARE and unique Fender rock machine, this is it!!! Not to be confused with the more recent American Performer series. This guitar is a rare beast only made for 1 year with unique pickups and tons of tonal options. 24 frets, System 1 Tremolo. Locking nut. fast neck. Ultra Cool agressive offset style like no other Fender. Never been reissued. The two pickups are custom humbuckers which both sit at an angle opposite to that of a standard Stratocaster or Telecaster bridge pickup. It appears that the coils are offset to keep the magnets in line with the strings, although they are potted in epoxy so the magnets cannot be seen. The guitar featured controls for master volume and TBX, a 3-way pickup selector and a coil splitting switch. The TBX circuit used stacked 250k and 1M pots with a center detent. Only a minor ding on the front side. Back has paint chipping near the bottom, but nobody sees that when you play it. Back plate covering tremolo is a replacement part, as is the trem bar.
