he Esoteric D-07X is a high-end 32-bit dual-mono Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and digital preamplifier. Designed as a trickle-down evolution of Esoteric’s flagship K-series digital players, it pairs a dual-mono Asahi Kasei DAC configuration with flexible digital processing modes and a built-in headphone amplifier.

Audio Architecture & Processing

• Dual-Mono Topology: Uses two 32-bit AKM AK4399 DAC chips configured in parallel per channel for improved channel separation and lower noise floor.
• PCM Upsampling: Selectable PCM integer upsampling (2×, 4×, or 8× up to 352.8 kHz / 384 kHz) alongside PCM-to-DSD conversion modes.
• Digital Filters: Includes four selectable PCM digital filters (two short-delay types and two sharp/slow roll-off types) plus an OFF mode for raw playback.
• Preamplifier & Output Stage: Fully balanced analog circuit with integrated digital volume control, allowing direct connection to power amplifiers or active monitors.
