After being fired from Rickenbacker, Semie Moseley founded Mosrite Guitars. The Ventures Model (what later became the Mark I) and Joe Maphis Double Neck incorporated a unique offset body shape with silhouetted “German Carve.” Subsequent models like the Mark II, Mark X bass, Gospel, and Mark XII 12-string continued to build on that aesthetic. Moseley went through some rough times in business, but his contributions to the electric guitar live on in Mosrite-inspired DiPinto and Eastwood Guitars.
