In the mid-'80s, string giant Ernie Ball purchased the then fledgeling Music Man company and spawned Ernie Ball Music Man. The new brand continued building Music Man designs such as the now iconic StingRay Bass, and broadened their lineup with signature models for players like Albert Lee and Eddie Van Halen.
