Electra Guitars originally gained fame in the late '70s and early '80s during the "Lawsuit" era of guitar production. In 2012, the brand was revived after two decades of inactivity by former head luthier of Dean Ben Chafin with the aim of harkening back to the original tone and character which originally drew Chafin to the brand. Today, the company's instrument roster has grown from staples like the Les Paul-esque Omega series to the metal-inspired Talon and even the Phoenix bass series.
