Here for sale we have a Taylor 214ce DLX electro-acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in Mexico in 2023, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Solid Sitka Spruce top, Rosewood back & sides, Mahogany neck & 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in Ivoroid, whilst the top features multi-stripe purfling, Mother of Pearl rosette & a Tortoiseshell pickguard. The headstock is overlaid with Ebony to match the fingerboard & bridge. A set of Taylor sealed tuning machines in Gold finish are fitted, as well as Taylor's Expression System 2 undersaddle piezo pickup & preamp. These are wired to shoulder-mounted controls for volume, bass & treble. The Mahogany neck plays fabulously, with Taylor's ever-popular neck profile sitting comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The profile might be described as a rather slim 'C' shape which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning and easy reach across the fretboard. The smooth finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25.5" scale, whilst the venetian cutaway enhances access to the upper frets. The Ebony of the fingerboard is supremely luxurious to the touch, and with its 15" radius ensures practicality for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The acoustic voice of the Taylor 214ce is bright and clear, with an unpronounced yet accurate low end, strong mid response and sparkling trebles which add a shimmer and chime to every note played on the instrument. The Grand Auditorium body design delivers the best of both large and compact bodies; sizable enough to produce a powerful and clear voice whilst remaining small enough to be comfortable in the arms. The Sitka Spruce top projects beautifully and offers a wide dynamic range, whilst producing a warmer & more refined tone than a typical un-aged Spruce top. Light scratching is apparent to the front face under direct lighting at certain angles.Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrate consistent light to moderate indentation that does not pierce the finish but is somewhat discernible beneath the thumb. The fingerboard demonstrate light playwear in the early register difficult to discern from the natural grain.Body: Overall good condition, the bass side lower bout side demonstrates a indentation that has pierced the wood and cracked through to the interior of the guitar. This has been glued, drop filled and cleated internally, ensuring no structural concern and an improved cosmetic condition. It is however visually apparent. Light scratching from finish touch up is also apparent to the bass side of the bridge and treble side of the fingerboard extension, visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. The lower bout of the front face demonstrates moderate indentation toward the treble side edge, piercing the finish slightly.Condition of Frets:This instrument has had a level and re-crown to ensure improved playability. There is moderate material remaining in the frets for future fret work. NCurrent Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (1/4" socket) not included.Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of use.Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
