About this listing
The Squier Vintage Modified 51 is a hybrid electric guitar that blends design elements from the Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, and Precision Bass. The body is refinished, stained red (“barn red”) sealed with tung oil. The guitar works and has multiple unique tones, in particular playing thru the DiMarzio Blade. I can’t play anymore so selling out stuff….soft shell gig bag, I’ll pack it well, shouldn’t be any issues. The guitar is light which should be good for playing gigs.Check out the photos notice small surface scratches and some minor buckle rash on the back, sorry but I couldn’t manage a suitable photo, this is not a shelf queen, but its a good looking guitar. The pickup alone is nearly as valuable as the guitar itself. The bridge humbucker pickup came out of a middle grade Gibson Les Paul sometime in the 90’s not overly unique in tone, but hey, I had it lying around. It plays ok, could use a setup, frets are in good shape (photo)Body: Lightweight, contoured basswood. Neck: One-piece maple "C"-shape neck with a 25.5" scale length, 9.5" radius maple fingerboard, 21 medium-jumbo frets, and a Telecaster-style headstock. Pickups: DiMarzio DP186BK+N in the neck position and a “who knows” humbucker in the bridge position.Controls & Switching: 3-position rotary pickup selector switch (replacing a traditional tone control) and a master volume knob featuring a push/pull coil-split switch for the bridge humbucker (which splits to the inner coil for Tele-like sounds). Hardware: Chrome hardtail 6-saddle bridge, standard die-cast tuners, and a Precision Bass-style control plate. [First Run (2004–2006): Originally introduced in July 2004 as part of the Vintage Modified series. Second Run (2013–2016): Reissued by Squier in September 2013 with minor updates. No idea when this one was made.
