About this listing
This listing is for a replacement chassis for a Korg PolySix synthesizer made from exotic African Sapele wood. Sapele is a rare wood that is super dense and quite beautiful. I've traditionally done most my projects in walnut, but am starting to offer them in several other varieties such as tis one in sapele.Note: One photo is in walnut, and clearly marked walnut. The photo is included to give you an idea of what your Polysix would look like in one of my replacement chassis.**This one is built and is the one in the photos, so it is ready to ship! The sides and front rail are crafted out of solid Sapele which is quite expensive. The bottom panel is made out of quality baltic birch -- no particle board or utility grade plywood here). Other than the internal battery that would often leak and destroy a Polysix, a common complaint of owners was the cheap particle board body that banged up and crumbled easily. Likely, yours is suffering that problem. Then maybe this is just what you need to make your rare Polysix look better than factory new. Not only will this upgrade increase your pride in your great sounding analog synth, but it will also increase it's resale value.RF shielding will be installed in the same size and area as it currently is in your original Polysix case. The bottom is sprayed jet black. Furniture nut inserts come pre-installed. All you have to do is transfer your existing keyboard, circuit boards, bender unit, power supply, rubber feet and use your existing screws. I'll include a sheet of all the metric screw sizes in case you are missing a few and need to pick some up from the hardware store. Instead of staples and glue, I chose to attach the finished end caps with wood screws from the inside. That way if you should ever bang one up, likely you could get a hold of me, and I can make you a new end cap vs. needing a whole new chassis. After a 5 grit step sanding process, they are hand finished with a quality stain and sprayed with several coats of a beautiful, durable polyurethane top coat. This proves superior to the gooey beeswax and oil finish many sellers are using as a time and cost cutting shortcut.**I hate to state the obvious, but this auction is for a replacement custom made wooden body only. This auction is not for a synthesizer, just a Polysix chassis. **This is a custom order item. Upon purchase, I will start work on it and and have it shipped within 14 days.Testimonials:Just transferred the electronics to the chassis that you built and I must say this piece is a work of art. Everything fit perfectly and It looks like it should have back in 1980. It is well worth the money. Taking my time it took me about an hour. I took some photos before I disassembled for reference and I didn't even need them because everything fit like the original. Your effort is 100 percent better than Korg's laminated press wood board and looks to match. Thanks, D.HGreat job on the case! I'm a happy customer and my PolySix will be happy too!!! - F.W.I've also made hardwood end panels for the Kawai SX-240 and chassis for the Korg Mono/Poly and here are some testimonials on those: "It arrived safely and I appreciate having my Mono/Poly looking like an 11/10 better than it did from the factory."- M.N "Just got the appropriate hardware to get everything back into place and put it together. They came out great! Thanks. I took a couple pics I will send them later. So happy. Thank you!" - M.B. "Wood Side panels for Kawai SX240 EXACTLY as described, packed well, Quick Ship!" - R.P.These are custom made and should be able to build yours and ship within 10 days of purchase, so no long waits for these! Local pickup is fine in the Chicago burbs and if you pick up, I'll delete the shipping charge.
