Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer (1979) – Ultra Rare First Version "Narrow Box" - Dual MC1458P - Shipping to Europe OnlyDescription:For sale: a highly collectible, original vintage Ibanez Tube Screamer Overdrive Pro TS-808 “Narrow Box” from 1979. This is the legendary first version, globally considered the holy grail of overdrive pedals.100% Authentic Electronics (For the collector):·Chips: Equipped with the ultra-rare dual Texas Instruments MC1458P op-amps and original brown resistors.·Layout: Features the iconic 'BALANCE' knob instead of 'Level'.·Graphics: The OVERDRIVE, TONE, and BALANCE labels are correctly positioned above the pots. The original “R” logo is present.·Enclosure: External 9V DC jack on the side next to the INPUT. Factory-designed without a plastic battery door.Professional Service & Condition:The pedal underwent a professional service check. The internal circuit board was cleaned with compressed air and isopropanol, and the original pots and switch were treated with DeoxIT D5. The pedal works perfectly, switches silently, and has zero scratchy pots.Important note regarding the pots: During careful cleaning with isopropanol, the fragile vintage ink/patina on the back of the middle pot partially dissolved. (still barely legible)The other two pots were left untouched immediately and have remained completely original.Replaced Parts (Essential maintenance after 45 years):The circuit board and core electronics are 100% original. Due to age and brittle plastic, only the following 3 mechanical parts were professionally replaced:1.Input & Output Jacks: Replaced with premium Pure Tone jacks (the best on the market). 2.3.5mm DC-Jack: Replaced with an authentic Ibanez part (DC jack for TS808 35th Anniversary – partnr: 8JKC3006). The old fragments are included.3.Battery Clip: The 9V battery connector was replaced due to natural wear.The fact that these wear-and-tear parts were professionally replaced simply means this pedal is technically 100% reliable and ready for action.The Sound:For tone purists. The MC1458P has less mid-hum, and therefore sounds more musical, natural, warmer, and creamier. This pedal delivers a singing rock and blues tone. Think of the ultimate blend between SRV Texas Blues and the driving guitar sounds heard on Bryan Adams’ Reckless album.
