About this listing
This is a 1970 Gibson SG Special, all original except for a body & neck re-lacquer and a repro Maestro vibrola. I have owned this guitar for over 35 years now and have had to do no work to it whatsoever except for installing a new Maestro vibrola (as the old one broke). The guitar had already been professionally re-laquered in the early 1980's and a small crack in the neck had been repaired and pinned. It has a very flat, straight, slimline neck and good frets. The action is currently very low and extremely playable without any buzzes. The repair has not moved at all in the 35 years I have owned it and almost certainly won't therefore in the future either. All looks good under the scratchplate. It still has the original P90 pickups and electrics although there appears to have been some soldering work. The neck and bridge pickups check in at 8.1k and 8.2k ohms respectively. The guitar comes with a good quality fitted Hiscox hard case. Clearly, due to its value, I would prefer not to courier this guitar. If you wish to organise your own courier though you are welcome.Viewing and/or collection from Billericay, Essex UK therefore preferred. Alternatively, please contact me about finding a mutually convenient meeting place in the UK.Please do not hesitate to message me if you have any questions.Cheers!Ian
