There are few electric guitars that can be said to be as classic or legendary as the Les Paul model from the American manufacturer Gibson. The Les Paul Custom w/ Ebony Fingerboard Gloss Alpine White is a top model from the Gibson Custom Shop. The solid mahogany body is decorated with a two-piece top of plain maple, an Alpine White color finish and a glossy nitro lacquer. An ebony fingerboard with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets is glued to the mahogany neck. Orientation on the fingerboard surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl position blocks (Mother of Pearl).The instrument's sound is provided by two 490T/490R humbuckers known from Gibson models from the 1960s. Their character refers to vintage PAF pickups, only with less aggressive highs and more punch in the midrange frequencies. Two volume potentiometers, two tone diaphragms and a three-position pickup switch are used to adjust the sound. Stable tuning is guaranteed by the string attachment via the Corian zero fret in the Grover Kidney tuning machines and via the TOM bridge in the tailpiece. The luxurious workmanship is underlined by the gold-plated hardware, multi-layer body binding and a pickguard color-matched to the body.
