Overview
The Gibson Johnny Smith was a carved Spruce archtop hollowbody with a single mini-humbucker, most commonly finished in Sunburst, though a Natural finish was also available (and adds significant value to vintage specimens). Pre-1979 specimens will have a trapeze tailpiece with a Johnny Smith name as opposed to the later "fingers" tailpiece.
A two-pickup version was also made known as the Johnny Smith Double.
Years of Production: 1961 - 1989
