The Fulltone MDV-2 Deja Vibe is a compact all-analog modulation pedal designed to recreate the classic Uni-Vibe tones associated with late ’60s and early ’70s psychedelic rock, blues, and fusion sounds. Built in the USA, the MDV-2 combines authentic photocell-based circuitry with modern reliability and pedalboard-friendly dimensions.
The pedal delivers rich swirling chorus textures, deep pulsating vibrato, and the unmistakable throb of a vintage Univibe effect. Its modulation character ranges from subtle movement and warm shimmer to intense rotary-style sweeps and chewy phase-like textures. The Chorus mode captures the familiar Hendrix and Trower-inspired vibe tones, while the Vibrato mode produces pitch-shifting modulation without the phased signal blend.
Controls for Volume and Intensity allow precise shaping of the effect, while the large treadle-style speed controller enables real-time adjustment during performance. The Modern/Vintage switch offers two distinct voicings, with Vintage mode delivering darker and smoother modulation, and Modern mode adding extra output and clarity for cleaner or more present tones.
Internally, the MDV-2 operates at 18 volts via a built-in voltage doubler while using a standard regulated 9V DC input. True bypass switching preserves the integrity of the dry signal when the pedal is disengaged.
