The FMR Audio PBC-6A ("PBC" for "Professional Balanced Compressor") is a mono compressor/limiter in the same 1/3-rack size as the wildly popular Really Nice Compressor and Really Nice Leveling Amplifier. This vintage-inspired unit features an adjustable knee, going from smooth and gentle compression to aggressive dynamic stomping at the twist of a single dial, as well as a "Thick" mode for a release curve that subtly beefs up the sound.

Bring up the chest and breath of a lead vocal, shoot some dirt and grit into your bass guitar tracks, and absolutely pummel a drum group to be blended back in with the dry signal. The simple control layout of the PBC-6A does have one hidden feature -- holding down the "Thick" and "Bypass" buttons brings up the sweepable sidechain high-pass filter as well as Master/Slave configuration for linking multiple units for stereo and beyond.
