About this listing
Good condition 1968 Fender Stratocaster in a very interested Olympic White refinish. Thick old enamel white paint finish that has some gnarly deep finish cracks as pictured. Very faded and honestly very cool in person in my opinion! The trem cavity has been slightly modified, more than likely to fit a separate modification at some point. The electronics cavity has also been enlarged, and the bridge pickup cavity was routed for a humbucker at some point in the guitars life. The current pickups are Custom Shop grey bottom pickups. They sound fantastic! All electronics have been updated, outside of the pickup selector switch. Pickups covers are original as well as the adjuster screws. Saddles are original. Trem block has been updated. Tuners are original, spin nicely, and hold tune as expected. The pickguard has been replaced. The switch you see installed on the pickguard engages the bridge pickup in any position you are in, which is a very cool and usable modification! Output jack and plate are original. Neckplate is original. Truss rod has had a repair, but spins and adjusts as expected! There is a small repair at the end of the fretboard as pictured, but does not affect the playability or tone whatsoever. This example has had a pro refret, and while the frets have definitely been played, the fretboard feels very good to play up the entire neck. Current action is low and very playable. Neck is straight. All in all, this is a very cool and unique late 60’s example of an affordable entry into 60‘s Stratocasters. Could be a very cool project, or totally playable as is! Comes with a very nice era correct repro hard shell case. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
