About this listing
This is a rare Fender Japan Order Made MST-35 Mini Stratocaster in 3-Tone Sunburst (3TS). The serial number begins with "Made in Japan M" followed by six digits, dating it to approximately 1992–1993. This is a particularly rare custom-order model.Unlike the catalog-listed MST-32 mini guitar, which features a two-pickup configuration, this MST-35 is equipped with three pickups, just like a standard Stratocaster. It features a basswood body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. In my personal opinion, the finish on the sides and end of the body has a texture that resembles a lacquer finish. To investigate this, I performed a small test using nail polish remover on an inconspicuous area at the end of the body, and it showed a reaction similar to that of lacquer. However, when I performed the same test inside the rear cavity beneath the backplate, the finish did not show the same reaction. Therefore, I cannot definitively confirm the type of finish used on this guitar.Weight: Approximately 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs).As this guitar is over 30 years old, it shows minor scratches, finish checking, and general signs of age and use. There are also picking scratches on the pickguard. However, the frets still have plenty of life remaining, and all electronics are functioning properly. To be completely honest, due to their construction, these types of mini guitars are not particularly suited for regular performance use, so I would not strongly recommend them as main playing instruments. However, I believe this guitar would make an excellent collector's item, especially considering its rarity as an Order Made model.Included Accessories:Original Fender soft caseAftermarket tremolo armPlease note that this is a used item. There are no issues with its current functionality, but please understand that you may need to make further adjustments after purchase to suit your preferences.Be sure to review the photos and description carefully before placing a bid.If there’s anything you’d like to confirm, please don’t hesitate to contact us.Important NoticePayments are accepted via PayPal only. Please ensure the shipping address in your PayPal account exactly matches the one registered on Reverb. We will ship to the Reverb-registered address even if you use Guest Checkout or if the PayPal address does not match.
