The Fender Brent Mason Telecaster pays tribute to one of Nashville's most recorded guitarists and his famously modified workhorse. Now part of the Fender Stories Collection, this signature model brings Brent’s one-of-a-kind guitar to the masses: A tool purpose-built for the demands of the studio, the stage, and beyond.
In the early 1980s, Brent discovered a stripped-down 1967 Telecaster in a Nashville guitar shop, refinished in gray automotive primer. Over time, he modified it extensively to suit his session needs, adding a unique SSH pickup configuration with Seymour Duncan pickups, a Glaser B-Bender system, locking tuners, and custom wiring for maximum tonal variety. Fender’s recreation captures every detail, from the primer-gray satin finish to the exact pickup and wiring layout, letting players switch from shimmering cleans to warm jazz chords to blazing country leads with ease.
