The ATL-70 takes the classic Tele formula in a slightly different direction, with the sleek contoured Aerodyne body, cream binding, matching black headstock, and a glossy Fender logo that gives it an almost Deluxe-style look. Super classy and honestly one of the sexiest Tele designs Fender Japan made during this era.The pickup combination is a big part of what makes this model special. It features the original Fender Japan HOTROD-T P-90-style neck pickup paired with a Fender TL-Vintage Telecaster single-coil in the bridge. You still get that familiar Tele bite and clarity from the bridge, while the neck position is noticeably thicker, warmer, and punchier than a traditional Tele neck pickup. It makes the guitar extremely versatile and gives it its own character compared to a standard Telecaster. The guitar is in good overall condition with numerous signs of honest playwear throughout, including scratches, small finish chips, and other cosmetic marks from normal use - please see the photos for details. Nothing that takes away from the overall look or playability; if anything, it gives the guitar a nicely played-in feel. The frets are in very good condition with no major divots or dead spots and have been polished to a shine. The guitar has been professionally set up and plays clean and comfortably across the neck. These early Japanese Aerodyne models are a really cool chapter of Fender Japan production - familiar Fender DNA, but with a distinctly Japanese design approach that you don’t see on a typical Telecaster. No case included. Weight: 7.64lbThe following work has been done: full cleaning, lemon oil fretboard treatment, fret spot leveling/polishing and string height setup (2.3 mm at the 12th fret on the low E string), pickup height adjusted for balance and clarity, and a fresh set of D'Addario XL 10/46 strings installed.Body• Construction: Solid body, bolt-on neck• Wood: Basswood• Finish: Black, gloss• Body Shape: Aerodyne Telecaster with rounded / carved top• Binding: Cream body binding• Pickguard: None• Contours: Aerodyne round-top body designNeck• Material: Maple• Joint: Bolt-on• Profile: Oval / C-style• Fingerboard: Rosewood• Radius: 7.25" / 184 mm• Frets: 22• Fret Condition: Very good, no major divots or dead spots; polished to a shine• Scale Length: 25.5" / 648 mm• Nut: Bone• Nut Width: 42 mm / 1.65"• Headstock: Matching Black Telecaster headstock with Fender logoHardware• Bridge: Fender 6-section brass Telecaster bridge• Saddles: 6 individual brass saddles• Tuners: Vintage-style Kluson-type• Hardware Finish: Chrome• Knobs: Chrome knurled Telecaster-style knobs• Strap Buttons: StandardElectronics• Bridge Pickup: Original Fender Japan TL-Vintage Telecaster single-coil• Neck Pickup: Original Fender Japan HOTROD-T P-90-style single-coil• Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone• Switching: 3-way selector (Bridge / Bridge + Neck / Neck)• Configuration: SS• Electronics: PassiveOther• Model: ATL-70 Aerodyne Telecaster• Series: Fender Japan Aerodyne Series• Era: 2002–2004• Made in: Japan• Marking: Crafted in Japan• Orientation: Right-handed• Condition: Good overall condition with numerous scratches, small finish chips and natural cosmetic wear from normal use; professionally set up and fully functional• Case: None
