Weymann® Model A Prototype Süper Adler NOS
*Private Reserve* from the legendary Weymann Vault - An extremely low number of these instruments exist, less than 24 were produced. We currently have #14, #19, #22 to choose from.
History: Reminiscent of a unique time in music history, the 1940's era Model A bodies, were intended for a "jumbo" mandolin production. This exquisite specimen is finely appointed with hand cut wood inlay, gold/brass hardware and the finest of tone woods. The neck profile is extremely chunky, with a minor radius + - 20 degrees (quite flat) which enables extremely fast playing. The pearl side markers are massive, close to 1/4" in diameter.
The 25.5" scale is comfortable & sleek. The neck joint is extremely unique, as it is both glued/set & bolted-on. 1-11/16" nut width with 2-3/16" neck pocket. Alnico / Ceramic hybrid prototype pickup (hot output) semi-humbucking single coil. SPS Tuning Machines & Swoop signature bridge.
Wood/Composition: The Model A's wood composition is world renowned. On the instruments face, you'll find the best kept secret of tone-woods: "African Anigre" notable for its stunning grain & unmatched tonal/resonant superiority. On the back, you'll find a 3/4" slab of Weymann's proprietary "Crystal Mahogany". Crystal Mahogany earns its name due to the remarkable crystalline composition of the wood. Niko de Weymann explains: "Imagine thousands of tiny crystals fused to wood fibers, when the instrument vibrates, these crystals actually absorb & amplify the frequency, leading to sustain players can only dream of - there is nothing like it on the market". Crystal Mahogany is one of Weymanns best kept secrets, and the only source for this proprietary, hybridized tone woods.
(Important note to buyers): As you have learned with instruments, no two guitars are the same. With that said, wood grains & colors always vary. Please understand your purchase might vary a shade or grain pattern (from the stock photo). We will confirm with you prior to dispatching.
