Siemens Sitral V282 16ch Amplifier Rack! Modified to 36dB. „GERMAN API“

Selling this 16 incredible 16 channel preamp rack with amplifier cards from Siemens Sitral!

16 channel of all discrete, transformer balanced goodness. I recorded full bands with this and the results speak for themselves…a customer that had a two-channel version made states this does not hide behind his V72, it has a bit more colour and sings beautifully…

Modules are completely restored and modified for up to 36dB of stable gain (here‘s where the comparison to the 34dB fixed gain V72 makes sense…) accessible from the front. Switchable input transformer ratio that gives 6dB less gain and a different low frequency response (a cutoff at 40hz with a slight bump) is accessible from the back. No Phantom power or phase switching - space here is tight and I use external solutions for that.

Not pictured yet: I will ad venting holes with mesh on the sides of the power supply to get it properly cooled. So much all discrete amplification power in this tiny space is unheard of!

The Design with big transformers and a pluggable amplifier card always reminded me of the API 312 amplifier. Would be interesting to dug into the schematics to see how true that really is, but the topology is there :)

You can buy the pictured device immediately. The Wood Housing has been discarded as it sits on a shelf in a 19“ Rack now. The original format is wider than 19“. But I can build a wooden tabletop Frame no Problem! If you have a special wish for the wood finish or any extra features just let me know.
