Synthaxe Midi Guitar 1985 Burgundy

I inherited this Synthaxe Guitar system recently and never use it. It was given to my father from the original owner Mickey Newbury (American Trilogy, Blue Sky Shinin') upon his death. The SynthAxe is a fretted guitar-like MIDI controller, created by Bill Aitken, Mike Dixon, and Tony Sedivy and manufactured in England in 1985. There were less than one hundred made, making this a very rare and collectible instrument. It uses electronic synthesizers to produce sound and is controlled through the use of an arm resembling the neck of a guitar in form and in use. The Synthaxe is only a midi controller, so produces no sound itself; it must be connected to a midi source to produce sound. 

The midi-guitar itself is in great condition, there is only a very feint scratch on the back of the body. The control head has some scratching on the bottom left of the console and on the screen (pictured), but you can still easily see the screen. The Pedal Unit has some very minor chipping on the front. The system uses a specific set of chords to connect each item (which are provided), and seeing as how the system is now almost 40 years old, the chords need to be re-wrapped.
