Here's a terrific Prewar French Besson professional trumpet from the personal collection of J. Geils. Wow!
This is an original French Besson, not a Kanstul Besson! The French Bessons were the model that the great Vincent Bach used to model his Stradivarius line of trumpets, which now dominates the trumpet scene. This is a rare example of a French Besson Brevette, Condition-wise it is very good.
Lacquer is maybe 70% present, and the horn is good and solid. Valves show very little wear, and are quite tight. This trumpet plays GREAT!
PROVENANCE: This instrument is from the personal collection of guitarist J. Geils. While many are aware of Mr. Geils' talent as a guitarist, fewer people know that he was also an accomplished jazz trumpet player. This instrument was purchased from his estate, and a digital copy of provenance will be included with this listing.
