Manley Variable MU Stereo Tube Compressor Limiter

The Variable MU Stereo Tube Compressor Limiter from Manley delivers smooth, musical compression that has become the standard in professional mastering studios. Comparable to the famous Fairchild 670, this all-tube, transformer-coupled circuit utilises the remote cut-off technique, achieving compression by re-biasing the vacuum tubes giving the Variable MU a distinct tonal character.

The dual input design can work both in stereo-link mode or as 2 independent mono channels, and while they share a ganged input volume control, each channel has separate threshold and output controls for gain compensation, as well as further controls for recovery speed and threshold level for fine tuning the dynamics of each channel.

Each of the channels can be switched between 2 distinct modes. 'Compress' mode features a soft-knee 1.5:1 ratio, ideal for glueing together your stereo buss, while 'Limit' mode delivers a sharper knee with ratios from 4:1 to 20:1 giving you precise control over peaks during recording and mastering.

Each unit is hand-assembled in California using carefully selected vacuum tubes, hand-wound transformers and premium components ensuring reliable performance and technical excellence that Manley is known for.
