Inspired by the original JTM amplifier that helped define Marshall's early sound, the ST20C delivers classic '60s valve tone in a compact 1x12 combo format. Its built-in power reduction allows operation at either 20 watts or 5 watts, making it suitable for either bedroom or headroom.

A pair of 5881 power valves, two ECC83 preamp valves and an ECC83 phase splitter provide the creamy highs, loose low end and responsive overdrive associated with the original JTM circuit. The High Treble and Normal channels can be patched together for further tonal flexibility, while Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence controls provide detailed sound shaping.

The ST20C is fitted with a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback 12-inch speaker, offering a higher power rating and enhanced bass response compared with the original Creamback speakers used in early Marshall amplifiers. A speaker-emulated DI output supports direct recording and PA connection, while the effects loop accommodates time-based and modulation pedals.
