Alfredo Laurenti fece in Terni 1953 Italian Violin

Body measuring 549 mm for a smaller build but fits comfortably as a full sized instrument with a rich robust tone indicative of Italian high quality construction and attention to detail.
This is Laurenti's own personal model with beautiful arching and detail.
Varnish is clean and subtle a golden amber-orange with a slight golden yellow under huge. The F holes are nicely constructed.
Top is a lovely two piece slab of fine grained spruce expertly bookmatched.
Back is a very highly figured quarter cut two piece slab of maple with matching sides; neck and delicately carved scroll.
Scroll has been grafted as the original setting might have been lower and is set up now to modern standards.
Ebony fingerboard nut and saddle.
Superieur Despiau made in FRANCE 3 tree bridge with string protector.
Ebony fittings pegs, tailpiece and chin-rest with golden brass fittings of superior quality.
Set atop 'Larsen Il Cannone Solo Strings with Warm & Broad 'A".
All essential parts of the violin are original and in working condition. No major cracks or openings and in near mint condition.

Alfredo Laurenti
Born in Perugia, 1882–1970
Active in Terni form around 1910. Personal models with spirit varnish he was principally a maker of plicked instruments. Laurenti Alfredo was Awarded the Grand Prize and Gold Medal at the 1923 Exhibition in Terni, Todi, and Florence. This is an excellent example of the makers work from varnish model and exquisite rich supple tone.
