Behringer JAM MIDI Controller

The Behringer JAM is a compact MIDI keyboard controller and sequencer designed for hands-on composition, sequencing and performance. Its 32 compact keys are velocity and aftertouch sensitive, providing expressive control while keeping the controller small enough for portable setups.

At its centre is a 64-step polyphonic sequencer capable of sequencing up to eight notes simultaneously, with rest, tie and legato note entry for building more detailed melodic and rhythmic patterns. Chord Play mode supports chords of up to 16 notes, while the onboard arpeggiator can handle up to eight simultaneous notes per step across eight selectable arpeggiator styles.

Four assignable multi-purpose controls provide hands-on access to software or hardware parameters, complemented by responsive touch strips for pitch bend and modulation. Dedicated Record, Play and Stop controls keep the sequencer and arpeggiator immediately accessible, while ratchet and random gate functions provide additional tools for creating evolving patterns and rhythmic variation.

Alongside USB and MIDI connectivity, JAM provides CV/Gate and Sync connections for integration with analogue synthesizers, modular equipment and drum machines. Four selectable sync sources make it easy to incorporate into a variety of hardware setups, while a sustain pedal input provides conventional keyboard control when required.

Class-compliant USB operation allows straightforward connection to a computer or compatible host without additional drivers. JAM can be powered over USB or from an optional external DC power supply, making it equally suited to desktop and portable setups.
