For those who luv Les Paul’s, there’s a certain thrill of owning an original Gold Top w/early Mini Humbucker pickups from the early 1970. Between 1968-1970 Gibson made the new Les Paul Std. model 2nd generation supposedly from leftover 50’s parts. This 2nd gen Les Paul Std. has a perfect Gold Top finish that now aged looks like the 50’s w/a nice patina & checking. Its early 2-piece mahogany body & a very early 3-piece neck feels great. Its large headstock has the tiniest bump of the 1st volute yet has no “made in the USA” stamp. Its 2 Mini-bucks are super powerful & have cream surrounds w/a nylon saddled tun-a-matic bridge & stop tailpiece. She’s now sporting a set of Shaller tuners yet still wearing its gold capped volume & tone knobs. The original black caps & pots date to late-1969 (solder in the way) & the 1st few weeks of 1970. She’s just in from her original owner, Mr. Chuck Anderson from Philly, & is ready for its nest caretaker. She’s excellent overall & comes in a mid-70’s chainsaw molded hard case.
