Antique German Violin, 4/4 Strad Copy, c. 1900
Antique full-size violin of probably German origin, most likely late 19th to early 20th century. Back length 359 mm. Two-piece flamed maple back with medium horizontal figure, matching ribs and scroll, and a medium-grain spruce top. Golden-brown antiqued varnish with fine craquelure throughout and honest surface wear consistent with age and use. Bears a facsimile “Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonensis / Faciebat Anno 1721(?)” label.
The interior has been inspected. Corner blocks and linings are present and properly let in. No cleats, patches, studs or crack repairs are visible anywhere inside. Photos of the interior are available on request.
Fitted with ebony pegs, tailpiece, fingerboard and chinrest, and an Aubert Mirecourt bridge. Set up and ready to play; needs new strings.
