The UDO Audio DMNO (Domino) is an 8-voice, 2-part multitimbral analog-hybrid powerhouse with a highly flexible and dynamic signal architecture — here in the striking white finish. DMNO is essentially two synthesizers in one instrument: two independent 4-voice analog-hybrid engines, each with its own oscillators, filters, envelopes, and dedicated front-panel controls, each equipped with UDO's new Dynamic Multi-Core Stereo VCF. With its eight creative Play Modes, DMNO unlocks dynamic interactions between the two timbres at the touch of a single control, while its flexible analog and digital audio connectivity makes it a truly expansive and immediate sound-design sandbox. Not simply a reskin of UDO's Super series but a wholly different take, DMNO merges UDO's championed hybrid sound with a cutting-edge, playful, and performative control architecture — able to deliver sleek pads but also reach further into the territory of odd, gritty, and aggressive timbres.
Key elements of its design:
- Dual Independent Synth Engines DMNO features two independent 4-voice analog-hybrid synthesizers (8 voices total), each with its own oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFO, and dedicated front-panel controls. You can layer them, split them, alternate between them, or route one into the other, with polyphony forming four "super" voices in UDO's binaural stereo mode.
- Eight Creative Play Modes Eight Play Modes determine how the engines interact — from conventional single, layer, and split configurations to a Cycle mode and enticing random/probabilistic modes. In Series mode, DMNO 1's audio output feeds DMNO 2's oscillator mixer, turning the first synth into a complex sound source for the second.
- FPGA Super-Waveform Oscillators Each engine runs FPGA-based oscillators with UDO's super-waveform architecture, featuring a "centroid" oscillator, cross-modulation, and plenty of audio-rate modulation for rich, stacked sounds with a gritty, grainy character — analog warmth paired with a distinctly modern edge.
- Dynamic Multi-Core Stereo VCF The entirely new per-voice analog Dynamic Multi-Core Stereo Filter system delivers a deep sonic palette — from extreme, overdriven textural scenes to rich, organic analog warmth.
- Deep Modulation, Sequencer & Arp Each section offers an LFO and two envelopes (one for the VCA, one for oscillator pitch and VCF), joined by a 64-step sequencer and a multi-mode arpeggiator with smart hold, plus probabilistic pitch transitions and aftertouch control for evolving performances.
- 32-Bit DSP Effects A high-resolution 32-bit DSP effects chain provides syncable delay, reverb, multi-mode distortion, chorus, and a three-band EQ, as send and insert effects that stay subtle or push into more aggressive territory while remaining musical.
- Extensive Connectivity & Audio Interface Connectivity includes a stereo input with variable-gain preamp, gate generator, and envelope follower (feeding the mod matrix), CV/gate outputs for modular integration, 5-pin DIN MIDI In/Out/Thru, and a built-in 2-in/2-out 24-bit class-compliant USB audio interface for recording straight into your DAW.
- Fatar Keybed & VFD Display A 44-note Fatar keybed with aftertouch anchors hands-on play, while a future-retro electroluminescent vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) provides gorgeous, high-visibility feedback.
Speaking to Sonic State at Superbooth 2026, UDO's George described the DMNO as a "monosynth cousin" to the Super series that leans into rich, stacked sounds with a gritty, grainy character — offering multiple play modes, probabilistic pitch transitions, and aftertouch control for distinctive sound evolutions with each play.
