The Avedis Zildjian Company is synonymous with cymbals. While most people associate the Zildjian name with the likes of Ringo Starr, Buddy Rich or Dave Grohl punishing their splashes, crashes or K Customs, few realize that these cymbals are the product of nearly 400 years of craftsmanship. Founded in Turkey in 1623 during the Ottoman Empire by Avedis himself, the Zildjian part of his name was given to him as it means "Cymbal Caster" in Turkish. Zildjian cymbals are one of the few brands that are still sought after on the vintage market.
