Valvestate 8100 Head & 8412 Cabinet Full Stack – 1991
An increasingly hard-to-find original Marshall Valvestate 8100 half stack, comprising a 1991 8100 100-watt head with original 2-way foot switch and matching 8412 4x12 cabinet.
Made famous by players such as Chuck Schuldiner and later associated with early death metal and hard rock tones, the original UK-built 8100 has become one of the most sought-after Valvestate amplifiers ever produced. Combining a genuine ECC83 valve-driven preamp with Marshall’s solid-state power section, it delivers everything from crisp cleans to the aggressive, saturated gain tones that made the series famous.
This example is accompanied by its original matching 8412 cabinet, making for a superb and increasingly scarce complete period-correct stack.
Both the head and cabinet are presented in very good condition for their age, showing only light signs of use. The tolex and logos have been well cared for and the control panel is in good condition and working perfectly but the graphics have started to disappear over time(see pictures), however the stack retains the classic appearance that defined Marshall’s early 1990s lineup.

The original 8100 has earned cult status over the years thanks to its unique voice and impressive reliability. Unlike many amplifiers of the era, these early UK-built Valvestates have developed a devoted following and are now recognised as genuine classics in their own right.
A fantastic opportunity to acquire a complete matching early-‘90s Marshall stack that’s equally at home in a collection, studio or rehearsal room.
