Video: Korg Announces Volca Mix Analogue Mixer for Volca Series

Korg’s Volca series is a popular collection of compact, affordable grooveboxes, comprised of the Volca Beats drum machine, the Volca Bass and Keys synths, the Volca Sample sampler and sequencer, and the Volca FM synth and sequencer.

Any of those instruments alone can help you make great music, but, as we’ve discussed before, playing Volcas together while recording or performing can maximize their music-making potential.

Today, along with the release of its new Prologue polyphonic synth Korg announces the release of the Volca Mix, an “analogue performance mixer” that allows musicians to easily combine Volcas and other Korg instruments in live performance.

The Volca Mix is a four-channel mixer (with two mono inputs and one stereo input) with dedicated volume faders and Lo/Hi filter knobs. Its Sync function can act as a master clock to the connected instruments and its DC out can provide power to up to three Volcas.

A fourth Volca (or any external audio source) can be connected through an auxiliary input. It includes built-in stereo speakers, as well as headphone and RCA outputs to connect to a club’s system.

As you can see in the video above, the Volca Mix makes it easy to use your Volcas alongside another synth to generate sequenced melodic patterns and rhythms. Be sure to check it out or click the link above to order yours.
