Fender Telecaster Thinline TN-72, Crafted in Japan 2006-2008 - Natural Ash

A beautiful Japanese-made Fender TN-72 Thinline in classic Natural finish, built during the 2006-2008 Crafted in Japan period. This is Fender Japan’s take on the iconic ’72 Telecaster Thinline - combining the familiar Tele feel and attack with the fuller, warmer character of a semi-hollow body and dual humbuckers.

This example is in excellent condition and exceptionally clean for its age. Cosmetically, there are no notable chips or dings, just one small scratch on the back of the neck, shown in the photos. Overall, it presents extremely well and feels like a very clean, well-kept instrument in hand.

The guitar retains its original Fender Japan humbuckers and original electronics, with the only exception being the pickup selector switch, which has been replaced with a quality aftermarket unit. Everything works exactly as it should.

The frets are in excellent condition with only light, even wear, no deep grooves or dead spots, and plenty of life remaining. They have been polished to a mirror shine, and the guitar plays smoothly and comfortably across the entire neck.

Tone-wise, this TN-72 sounds fantastic - full, punchy, and warm, with a really pleasant, slightly jazzy midrange character. It has plenty of body and depth while still retaining the articulation and definition you want from a Tele-style guitar. Clean tones are rich and open, while pushing an amp brings out a thick, lively response that works beautifully across everything from jazz and soul to indie, rock, and blues.

A great example of a classic Fender Japan Thinline - clean, resonant, great-playing, and ready to go.

The following work has been done: full fretboard cleaning, fret polish, pickup height adjustment for balance and clarity, and a fresh set of D’Addario 10-46s installed. String height at the 12th fret on the low E is right at 2.2 mm - set for comfortable playability.
