Extremely rare 1963 Epiphone Newport Deluxe bass.  30-1/2" scale.  Made by Gibson at the Kalamazoo factory.  This two pickup model was available between 1961 and 1963.  Total production for three model years was only 89 basses (38 in 1963).  This bass has excellent action and playability.  The neck is straight, the action is low.  Big chunky neck like it's Gibson conterparts of the same era.  The frets are in excellent condition with only minor playing wear.  It's had a heel repair, and a body crack repair.  Non-original parts include the pick guard, finger rest, toggle switch, bridge, and locking studs.  Includes the original gray chipboard case.
