Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Precision Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A genuine vintage Pre-CBS example, this bass features an older, naturally aged body-only Olympic White refinish, retaining original electronics and hardware.

Particularly resonant and even tempered acoustically, notes ring out with great clarity and consistency across strings and across all registers. The original black bobbin pickup yields plenty of sweet, deep growl with a broad woody thump with the Tone control rolled back to taste. Well-balanced on a strap and weighing just 8lbs 9oz, this vintage Precision Bass benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with a fresh set of roundwound 45-100 strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

The pickup retains its original windings, and the harness features Stackpole pots that date to late ‘64, complete with the original ceramic disc tone cap and ¼” jack. Hardware includes the original clover button long stem tuners, bridge with threaded saddles, L-prefix neck plate and flat-topped knurled knobs. Plastics are also largely original, with a very clean nitrate tortoise pickguard that shows minimal shrinkage, still lining up with all original mounting holes and paired with a modern shielding plate. The pickup covers are original, while the finger rest is a modern component.

The gloss Olympic White finish is an older nitro lacquer refin, naturally aged with no artificial relic’ing, featuring broad horizontal lacquer checking. Cosmetic wear includes some finish chipping on the body perimeter, largely concentrated along the lower bout, with some additional minor nicks and scuffs consistent with use. The original nitro gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with palm wear down to a satin feel along much of the carve.

A Fender-branded brown tolex G&G Deluxe hardshell case is included.
