This is an absolutely beautiful vintage 1981 Gibson B.B. King Lucille! Being made in 1981, this guitar is extremely hard to find and dates back to very close to the first years these guitars were produced by Gibson.

This Lucille plays great with low action, great-sounding electronics, and a very smooth, comfortable neck. The guitar weighs 8 lbs. 10 oz. and includes the original hard case, which has some small signs of use and aging consistent with its age.

Cosmetically, this guitar has some small scratches and scuffs, a couple of small indentations, some finish checking, and some aging/tarnishing to the hardware. These are cosmetic signs of age and use and do not affect the way the guitar plays. The frets also show some small signs of fret use but remain in good playing condition.

One thing to note is that the back of the headstock is stamped “SECOND.”

Overall, this is a very cool and increasingly hard-to-find vintage 1981 Gibson B.B. King Lucille. It’s a fantastic-playing guitar with tons of vintage character and a really special place in Gibson history!
