This is an extremely cool Fender P-Bass, made in the USA in 1952. First version with slab-body. The original owner (presumably named Ray) refinished it white a long time ago and affixed mailbox letters of his name on the original black pickguard. Aside from this it appears to be mostly original. The bridge saddles are changed but the bridge with serial number is intact. The pickup is definitely re-wound but appears to be original. The plastic parts and hardware are all original. The bass has been pro-setup in our store and is a fabulous playing instrument. It comes with several loan receipts indicating that Ray bought the bass in St. Louis, in 1953, along with a matching Bassman amplifier. The bass comes with a non original hard case.
