This Fender Esquire Custom was made in the USA in 1961. The body has been refinished - it is probably the best refinish we have ever seen. The colors are perfect including the maroon sides that Fender did during this period. We are not sure how old the finish is but the wear and checking look 100% authentic and we were only convinced it was refinished after taking it apart. The body had a humbucker in the neck position at some point but the route was professionally filled prior to the refinish. The neck has the original finish and decal. The pickup is original but has been rewound. The tuners, bridge, neckplate, control plate, and knobs are also all original. The pickguard and pots have been changed and the guitar was refretted. It weighs 6 pounds 13 ounces and is a total joy to play. The guitar has been pro-setup in our store and plays great. It comes with a 70's Fender case.
