The Gibson Custom Shop Flying V is a striking take on one of Gibson’s most iconic designs. Built by the artisans at Gibson Custom in limited numbers, this version elevates the classic Flying V with a massive AAA figured maple top and a vivid Cobra Burst finish that highlights every inch of the flame figuring. Combined with the multi-ply body binding, gold hardware, and mother-of-pearl block inlays, this guitar delivers an unmistakably upscale appearance while still honoring the rebellious spirit that made the Flying V legendary.

Originally introduced in the late 1950s, the Flying V broke every convention of electric guitar design with its futuristic body shape and aggressive styling. This Custom Shop model continues that legacy with premium craftsmanship and carefully chosen appointments that make it stand apart from standard production models. The Cobra Burst finish paired with the oversized figured maple top gives this Flying V a bold visual presence that looks every bit as powerful as it sounds.

Beyond the stunning appearance, the Flying V Custom offers exceptional playability and tone. The solid mahogany body and chunky 1950s D-shaped neck provide a substantial, comfortable feel, while the ebony fretboard and medium jumbo frets allow for smooth bends and effortless lead work. Equipped with Gibson’s 490R and 498T humbuckers, this guitar delivers everything from warm, articulate cleans to aggressive high-output rock tones with ease. Whether on stage, in the studio, or hanging proudly in a collection, this Gibson Custom Select Flying V Custom is built to make a statement. Available now at Haggerty’s Music.
